Bethany Turner

In May, I will graduate from Coastal Carolina Community College with a Dental Hygiene degree and, I am eager to become Bethany Turner CDA, RDH. Dental Hygiene has been a passion of mine that continues to grow as I progress in the profession.

Education is something that is very important to me, and over the past four years in college, I have exceeded even my expectations by making the Dean’s List, joining Phi Theta Kappa, graduating from the dental assisting program, maintaining ‘s and B’s during my first year of hygiene school, and becoming president of my hygiene class. I have developed a passion for learning new things and broadening my viewpoints.

In addition to my studies, I volunteer at the North Carolina Missions of Merci clinic in New Bern, which was a very humbling and rewarding experience. Merci clinic provides free dental care to North Carolinians who don’t have access to it. This community service has opened my eyes and helps me strive to do my best in school so I can provide quality care to all patients no matter their circumstances, and I intend to donate my time in the future.

Upon graduation from Coastal Carolina Community College, my plans include obtaining a job as a Dental Hygienist locally for two years and then continue my education at East Carolina University. At ECU I plan to complete the prerequisites for entry into the School of Dental Medicine.
