Yan Zhang has been living in the city of Kinston for five years now. In 2014, she enrolled at Lenoir Community College to learn English. Three years later, she decided to pursue an A.A.S. degree in Computer Engineering Technology. “I enjoy studying at LCC because there are excellent professors and staff. I feel relaxed and comfortable when I study in LCC’s clean classrooms or the quiet library. Although academic study can sometimes make students feel stressed, I think that I have always had the confidence to overcome these difficulties. Lenoir Community College lights up my life and leads me to success,” Yan said. 

Moreover, Yan Zhang has a passion for learning new things and she emphasizes that at LCC “dreams become a reality.” For her, having the opportunity to attend LCC is a dream come true. “To study is part of my life, and I feel that life is so beautiful when I take a walk around the college campus, sit in the library, or listen to lessons in the classroom. One day I will go to work with the knowledge that I gained from my college. My sincere gratitude to Lenoir Community College, my instructors, and to everyone that I have met here, ” Yan said. 

Yan passion for learning and willingness to try new things have led her to succeed academically. On May 9, 2019, she graduated with a 4.0, her A.A.S degree in Computer Engineering Technology, and was recognized with the 2019 Academic Excellence Award at Lenoir Community College graduation ceremony.
